Inviting Wholeness.
Seeking support through therapy is courageous.
It is a journey in which we navigate the landscape of our past in order to craft a new one in which freedom, choice & aliveness reign.
There is an inherent intelligence within you that knows what you need and how to get where you want to go.
My goal is to facilitate a journey of healing through self-discovery based on this wisdom that you carry.
Let's explore what's possible together.
Through working one-on-one with clients, I offer Somatic Experiencing, a therapy rooted in understanding how our life experiences affect our nervous system and keep us in patterns that help us survive but not necessarily thrive. I love this modality for the way it allows us to follow the body's wisdom to create profound and palpable changes in ourselves--on a physical, emotional, and intellectual level. And as we shift from surviving to thriving, we tap into more inner power, choice and freedom to create and live more of the life we want.
As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), I have spent the last 13 years studying Somatic Experiencing with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute in Asheville, NC and Petaluma, CA. I earned my Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Western Carolina University in 2013 in order to cultivate the credentials to serve as wide a clientele as possible. Since then I have gone on to earn a license to independently practice psychotherapy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I have experience working with individuals:
having a hard time navigating emotional up’s and down’s
transitioning into adulthood
facing depression &/or anxiety
dealing with known or suspected trauma
seeking deeper understanding of their sexuality
With my background in conscious social change, I also love working with change agents wanting to more deeply understand the motivation for their work, harness anger and pain for positive action &/or bring more conscious intention into their activism.
